ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉನ್ನತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ನೀಡುವ ಧ್ಯೇಯದೊಂದಿಗೆ 1947 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಕೆನರಾ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಸೊಸೈಟಿಯು ಕಾಲೇಜು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲಾ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ, ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯವನ್ನು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿ ಕೀರ್ತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಗಳಿಸಿ ತದನಂತರ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವಶ್ಯವಿರುವ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆಯನ್ನು ಮನಗಂಡು 1985 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ವಿದ್ಯಾಧಿರಾಜ ಪಾಲಿಟೆಕ್ನಿಕ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿತು. ಇದು ಇದರ ಕೀರ್ತಿಯ ಕಿರೀಟಕ್ಕೆ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಮುತ್ತನ್ನು ಅಳವಡಿಸಿದಂತಾಯಿತು ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ಸುಂದರ ಪರಿಸರ ಮತ್ತು ಆವರಣವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವುದು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾಶಸ್ತ್ಯ ಸ್ಥಳವಾಗಿದೆ. ಸಮಾಜದ ಎಲ್ಲ ವರ್ಗದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಉದ್ಯಮವಲಯದ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಗೆ ಅನುಗುಣವಾಗಿ ಉನ್ನತ ಮಟ್ಟದ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ನೀಡಲು ಪೂರಕವಾದ ಮೂಲಭೂತ ಸೌಕರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ ಮಹೋನ್ನತ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞರನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸಿ ಉತ್ತಮ ಶ್ರೇಣಿಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನಾಗಿಸಿ ಬೆಳೆಸುವುದು.

ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಅವಶ್ಯವಿರುವ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಿ ಸಮಾಜದ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ ನೈತಿಕ ಮೌಲ್ಯಯುತ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯುತ ವೃತ್ತಿ ನಿರತರನ್ನಾಗಿ ರೂಪಿಸುವುದು.

ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲ ಕಾರ್ಯಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಉತ್ತಮ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟವನ್ನು ಕಾಯ್ದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಜಾಗೃತೆ ಮೂಡಿಸುವುದು.
